Ski Tech Tips: *Have your skis or snowboard tuned every 3 days on the snow to get the best performance out of them.* By doing this you will maintain their factory tuned specs. It is less expensive in the long run to maintain your skis or board than it is to neglect them and try to return them to top condition all at once. At KBS we offer the best ski and board tuning prices in the state of Maine so it is easier for you to keep your equipment in top condition. Well maintained equipment makes for a better experience on the snow and that's what it is all about, right? *Do you want to get the most out of your skis or snowboard?* Have them tuned and waxed back to factory spec, not all shops do this so make sure you ask. (No reason to ask at KBS, We automatically tune your ski or snowboard to that manufacturer spec for that product.)

In spring when there is more moisture in the snow a course or more open structure is used on the ski base. This open structure allows the ski to glide better with more control in these conditions. Think of this structure as rain tires for your skis. When the snow is colder and not as moist you will use a tighter structure. This would be your road tire for your skis.
