The 2006-07 season promises to be exciting for snowboarders in the Central Maine area who travel to Kennebec Bike & Ski for their Snowboarding needs. We have more than tripled our shop space dedicated to Snowboards, Snowboard Boots, Snowboard Bindings, & all Snowboard related Accessories. We have also added several exciting new Snowboard product lines. We are now selling Lib-Tech & Gnu Snowboards, Bindings, and accessories. The most exciting new addition for us is our new Wintersteiger Micro 91 combined stone & belt grinding machine. The Micro 91 is designed with a wide belt and stone to allow both ski and snowboard tuning. Most snowboarders in the past have not taken proper care of their equipment thus not gotten the maximum performance or life expectancy out of their boards. A properly tuned board will ride better in all types of terrain and snow. Stone grinding will flatten the base and restore a structure pattern which give you the following benefits... • Improved maneuverability • Instant response to direction changes • Better direction control • Faster, smoother gliding • Optimum edge grip for all slopes and snow conditionsEdge tuning is also important. Your edge bevels will affect how your board will handle in the turns or halfpipe transitions. Your edges also need to be sharp in order to provide optimum hold, especially with the top quality ice we often have the pleasure ride on here in Maine. The final important step is wax which in addition to the obvious benefit of better glide also helps to protect and prolong the life of your base.
